What is OneLife LA? 7 years ago, OneLife LA began in Los Angeles as a one-day event meant to catalyze a movement of love and mercy in our city and our entire community. Each year, 20,000+ people gather in downtown LA to witness the beauty and dignity of every human life. We listen to powerful stories from people who have overcome a great deal in life and have learned to use that struggle to help others. And, we mobilize thousands of people to do good work every day to help those in need.
Why do you celebrate the beauty and dignity of every human life? Each person’s life is a gift meant to be celebrated and shared. Each person has inherent and unrepeatable dignity, from the moment of conception until the person’s last breath. There is nothing one can do, and nothing that can happen to anyone, that can make a person lose one's dignity! But, sometimes our world forgets or overlooks human dignity, treating people as disposable. We refocus on dignity, inviting people to celebrate the gift of life and spread mercy in every situation.
What is the Joy of Life? Even now, especially now, when there is so much stress and worry in the world, we find our joy in the gift of life. Every one of us has been given the gift of life for a reason! Every person has meaning and a purpose in life given to them! During this season, take a moment to reflect on the joy that is in your life. Maybe it is a beautiful sunrise or the smile of a child or grandchild. Even little things can bring great joy. Joy is meant to be shared!
How can I be a part of OneLife LA this year and evangelize my neighborhood? In other years, we walk through downtown LA and spread the message through our words and actions. This year as we stay closer to home, we invite you to share the Joy of Life by:
Joining us virtually on January 23 at 12pm PST on OneLifeLA.org.
Sharing the joy with your neighbors by displaying a OneLife LA yard sign, placard, or by ordering your OneLife gear from our online store.
Reaching out to your local church or non-profit organization to volunteer, do good works and show love and mercy.
Joining us for our Requiem Mass for the Unborn to pray for women, children, and families harmed by abortion.
