We did it. 35,000 beautiful faces joined us to celebrate the beauty and dignity of all human life! And we showed Southern California that each person is truly made for greater.
LA State Historic Park is a fabulous new home for OneLife LA! Families were spread out all over the grass on picnic blankets, cheering for each of our amazing speakers. Kids played tag, dads napped in the sun, and couples young and old danced to salsa music. The LAPD reported an attendance of 35,000 people, easily breaking our crowd size record of previous years. And your positive presence in downtown Los Angeles brought some great media coverage, including stories in the LA Times, Fox News, Daily News, US News, CBS Local, NBC Los Angeles, KTLA News, ABC7, MyNewsLA, Fox News, Relevant Radio, EWTN, National Catholic Register, Catholic News Agency, and more!
As a community, we showed Los Angeles that each person’s one life makes a difference. That each of us is unique, valued, and beautiful.
But this is NOT the end. This is the beginning. There is much to do.
The inspiration of our speakers should tug at our hearts to ask, “What am I called to now?” Karen Gaffney received a standing ovation for encouraging full inclusion for those with Down Syndrome and the unborn. In her honor, you can join adventure beach days with the Best Day Foundation or pray with 40 Days for Life.
Bishop W.C. Martin’s rousing speech could be heard for miles calling Los Angeles to rise up and welcome foster children into our homes. You can do just that with Foster All, DCFS, Olivecrest, or CASA.
Now is the time to keep the OneLife fire alive! Consider what you can do with your one life now, today.
Right here in Los Angeles, your neighbors are in need. Trafficking survivors, pregnant mothers and their unborn babies, foster kids, homeless families, people with intellectual disabilities, prisoners, refugees. And our Community Partners help each person with love and dignity.
OneLife LA is the rallying cry, and the other 364 days are for living that call. OneLife family, it’s time to fulfill that call.
